Jose Luis García-Pérez
He has developed a solid career in film, television and theatre, both in Spain and internationally, also taking part in English-language productions. Throughout his career he has been recognized as Best Andalusian Theatre Actor and has been nominated for the Goya Awards for his performances in “Cachorro” by Miguel Albaladejo and “Retorno a Hansala” by Chus Gutiérrez. He has also received awards at festivals such as the Festival de Cine Euro Árabe Amal, the Mostra de Valencia and the Festival de Málaga.
In theatre he has starred in productions such as “La avería” directed by Blanca Portillo, “Closer” by Patrick Marber under the direction of Mariano Barroso and “Viejos tiempos” directed by Ricardo Moya. He also produced and performed the monologue “Diario de un loco” by Nikolái Gógol, directed by Luis Luque.
In film he has participated in titles such as “Los aires difíciles”, “Los niños salvajes”, “Héctor”, “Siete mesas de billar francés” and “Retorno a Hansala”, which have been featured at festivals such as San Sebastián, Montreal, Málaga and the Seminci de Valladolid. He has also worked in international productions like “Buried” by Rodrigo Cortés, “Ways to Live Forever” by Gustavo Ron and the series “In From The Cold” for Netflix.
On television he has appeared in more than 50 series, including “Guante blanco”, “Fuera de lugar”, “Amar en tiempos revueltos”, “Carlos, Rey Emperador”, “El Cid”, and “La noche más larga”. Recently he has starred in “Las noches de Tefía” and “Honor”, for which he received the Best Leading Actor award at the FICAL International Film Festival.
In theatre he has also starred in “Don Juan Tenorio” directed by Blanca Portillo, “El cartógrafo” and “El mago” by Juan Mayorga. His most recent project is “Amistad”, where he serves as actor, director and producer, premiered at Las Naves de Matadero of the Teatro Español de Madrid.
